Social Activities

Grantham Tennis Club is not just about tennis! We have a regular programme of social activities and we are always looking to expand the range of events and opportunities - particularly so that more and more family members and friends take part. This is also an important way of attracting new members to the Club, not least people of all ages and backgrounds who may not previously have thought of exploring a possible interest in tennis

Social events
  • Our regular programme includes:
  • Quiz nights
  • Family Fun Day
  • Barbecues
  • French Open Social Day
  • Wimbledon Social Day
  • Trips to Wimbledon
  • Davis Cup trips
  • Annual Dinner Dance
  • Ladies' Pamper Evenings
  • Corporate Day - local businesses sending teams to take part in a charity tournament
  • Trip to the races

Future plans
  • Our plans for future events include:
  • Barn dances
  • Country walks with pub lunches
  • Family trips to the seaside
  • Trips to other tennis tournaments
  • Twinning with other tennis clubs abroad

Grantham Tennis Club has a social secretary and we welcome all ideas from members young and old for activities to expand our programme. Please contact Tracy Hobson in the first instance:

The Clubhouse, which has good kitchen facilities, is well used as part of the regular daytime and evening social programme. After matches it is not unknown for a bottle or two to be opened and consumed

Clubhouse facilities

As well as the 7 tennis courts, we have a Clubhouse with:

  • A comfortable social area
  • A kitchen area with tea/coffee making facilities, microwave etc
  • A large widescreen TV
  • Wi-fi access
  • Table tennis table
  • Male and female toilets/showers
  • Baby-changing facilities

All this in an attractive wooded setting!
